Snakeskin liverwort (Liverworts)
Thalloid liverworts (including Marchantia) have a flattened gametophytic body, or ‘thallus’, which develops small egg- or sperm-producing structures. The air chambers in C. conicum are clearly visible, separated by dark furrows, with a whitish air pore at the centre of each chamber.
